Flights almost back to pre-pandemic levels

According to NAV Portugal, the August data show that air traffic is in “clear and sustainable recovery”.

NAV Portugal has revealed that, in August, the total number of controlled flights in Portugal was at 94.7% compared to the same month in 2019.

According to a report by Publituris, “IFR (Instruments Flight Rules) traffic in the Lisbon Flight Information Region (RIV) totalled 57,703 movements”, which translates into a decrease of “5.3% compared to the 60,941 flights registered in the August 2019”.

“In average terms, this month, 1,861 daily IFR flights were controlled, registering a loss of 104 daily flights compared to August 2019”, adds the national air traffic management company.
