Property valuations rise again

In year-on-year terms, the rate of change stood at 14.9% (13.5% in December 2022).

The median value of bank valuation on housing was 1,458 euros in January 2023, 27 euros more than that observed in the previous month, according to INE.

“It should be noted that the number of bank assessments considered decreased for the eighth consecutive month, standing at around 22 thousand, which represents a reduction of 25.8% compared to the same period of the previous year and 33.3% less than in last May, the month in which the maximum of the series was registered”.

The biggest increase compared to the previous month was seen in the Algarve (2.2%), with the only decrease seen in the Autonomous Region of the Azores (-0.8%).

Compared to the same period of the previous year, the median value of assessments grew by 14.9%, with the most intense variation recorded in the Algarve (17.4%) and the lowest in the Autonomous Region of the Azores (7.5%).
