Portugal attracted 3.5 billion in foreign investment in 2023, the highest value since 2016

There have been 36 new investments have been decided, worth 2. 739 billion euros These investments will create 6,810 new jobs. 14 of them are projects related to industries. 12 companies that are already in Portugal are planning to invest in new projects, which will provide 1,500 more jobs. AICEP is monitoring 50 PIN applications.

Last year, AICEP received 3. 5 billion euros in investment, which is the highest amount since 2016. Out of this total amount, over 2. 7 billion euros are from new Foreign Direct Investment. This will create 6,810 new jobs through 36 decided investment projects. There are 14 new industrial projects that will make 3,555 new jobs. 3,255 jobs are still available in service centers.

Additionally, reinvestment projects by foreign and domestic companies contribute over €719 million to the total, promising an additional 1,526 jobs.
