A year to remember for Greek airports

Last year closed with another historic high in the number of passengers transported through Greek airports, which exceeded 30 million at Athens Airport and 37 million at the 14 regional airports managed by Fraport Greece.

The strong increase in passenger traffic, mainly driven by the international network, from which 85% comes, led Athens International Airport management to adopt a more aggressive strategy regarding the implementation of the 1.3-billion-euro investment plan to expand its capacity.

However, competition from rival tourism destinations is intense, so investment and operational alertness are required.
