Casa da Companhia Hotel is celebrating its First Anniversary this month. This is an important milestone for the Mercan Group within the hospitality sector in Portugal.

The interiors of this historic building have been restored to their original 18th-century design for the hotel’s re-opening as a Vignette Collection property. At the time of the Marquis of Pombal, Secretary of Portugal, the house was rented by the Companhia Geral de Agricultura das Vinhas do Alto Douro, currently Real Companhia Velha, one of the oldest and most prestigious companies producing Port Wine.
