Event “Invest In Portugal – The success story of Mercan Group” hosted at Portugal Embassy in Bangkok – 19 March

On 19th March 2024, Mercan Group and Mercan Siam, under the support of the Embassy of Portugal in Bangkok and the AICEP Portugal, organizes the event: “Invest in Portugal- The Success Story of Mercan Group” that welcomes more than a hundred of top local Thai entrepreneurs come to attend.

The event is hosted at the Chancery and the Courtyard of the Embassy of Portugal in Bangkok, offering a warm and elegant welcome to everyone. The event highlight is a long-standing friendship between the Portugal Embassy in Bangkok and Mercan Group, expressed by the Counsellor &Deputy Head of Mission, Mr. Vasco Costa, the Economic Counsellor/AICEP delegate, Mr. Afonso Duarte, the Founder and CEO of Mercan Group, Jerry Morgan and the Global Business Development Director, Ms Jasmine Dang.

At the event, Mr. Afonso Duarte, Economic Counsellor/AICEP Delegate presents to all guests the advantages of investing into Portugal, a top 7th safest country in the world and top 10th World’s best country for Expats. Followed by the presentation of Mr. Jerry Morgan, the Founder and CEO of Mercan Group and Mercan Properties, a Portugal company under Mercan Group of Companies that currently have a total of 1.2 billion EUR in assets with more than 30 branded 4 star and 5-star hotels under various stages of construction and operation. Taking this chance, Mr. Morgan also presents to Thai investors the Mercan Hospitality Fund, a commercial fund established for the purpose of Golden Visa that allows investor to make an investment of 500,000EUR into Mercan hospitality projects, and receive 2% income per year with the benefit of 7 day stay free of any hotel in Porto, Lisbon, Algarve that under the chain of Mercan Group. The investor and his/her family members can apply for residency in Portugal with flexibility of stay for 7 day per year.

As of today, Mercan Group receives nearly 4,000 investors worldwide that decide to invest in Mercan hotel chain under the Golden Visa program, and through this program they can sponsor family members including spouse, children, and parents of both sides.
