Golden Visa news: Suspension of the analysis of Applications of Russian Citizens

On February 26, 2022 The Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs sated that SEF would suspend preemptively the analysis of the applications of Russian citizens under the concession residence permit for investment program.

This decision aimed is to halt the process for all Russian investors that are in the prcess of obtain the Residency Permit as safeguard the sanctions that will be adopted against Russia and Russian citizens, by the European Union.

Following all of the suspension of the announcement:

  • The suspension will not affect investors that have a valid residence authorization.
  • The announcement issued by the Ministry represents the suspension on the annalysis of the applications of Russian citizens to the program and not a ban for Russian citizens to access the Golden Visa Program.
