- 13 December, 25
New data from German travel giant TUI shows that Greece is emerging as one of the most popular summer destinations for 2026. From Crete and Rhodes to Kos and Corfu, bookings have risen sharply, reflecting the ongoing enthusiasm of German travelers for Greek holidays.
Multiple Greek Islands Become Booking Stars
According to TUI:
- Crete, Rhodes, and Kos ranked 3rd to 5th among the top summer holiday destinations for 2026
- Smaller islands like Corfu and Samos also recorded strong growth
- Halkidiki achieved double-digit booking increases, becoming a new favorite among families
Each year, around 4 million travelers visit Greece through TUI, staying at 50 TUI-branded hotels across the mainland and the islands. To meet rising demand, TUI fly operates about 180 flights weekly to Crete, Rhodes, and Kos.
TUI Germany CEO Benjamin Jacobi noted:“Demand for early planning remains very strong. Many travelers book early to secure preferred room types while enjoying discounts of up to 40%.”

Across the entire TUI system, Greece is now almost as popular as Spain, demonstrating exceptional appeal. Whether for solo travelers, couples, or families, Greece’s islands offer something for every type of tourist.

Corfu is emerging as one of Greece’s fastest-growing holiday hotspots, driven by booming international flights, strong cruise ship arrivals, and record-high early bookings for Summer 2026. With over 1.1 million cruise passengers and nearly 2.2 million air arrivals in 2024, the island’s hotel sector is experiencing exceptional demand.
