Greece Ranked Among World’s Top Inspirational Destinations for 2026

Greece has been named one of the world’s top inspirational destinations for 2026, according to new research from international marketing firm Travelsavers and the Network of Entrepreneurs Selling Travel (NEST).

The country ranks fourth globally, celebrated for its history, culture and immersive experiences that continue to capture travelers’ imaginations.

Italy tops the list, followed by Alaska, with Portugal and the Riviera Maya completing the top five.

According to the research, expanding direct flights from the United States are helping meet rising demand for European travel, while Greece’s mix of ancient heritage, sun-soaked islands, and authentic local experiences makes it a standout choice.

“People are eager to expand their horizons and immerse themselves in places that feel completely different,” said Chief Marketing Officer Nicole Mazza. “They want it all – an authentic experience in a fascinating place along with their loved ones – and they want to travel in upscale comfort because they deserve it.”

In the category of trending destinations, Japan leads, followed by Eastern Europe, South Africa, Morocco, and Thailand.

2026 Travel Styles

Advisors forecast all-inclusive travel as the “leading style” for 2026, appealing to younger travelers alongside traditional segments such as families and couples. According to the research, demand is driven by expanded resort options, enriched cultural experiences, and a greater focus on wellness.

River cruising, family travel, active and adventure holidays, and luxury travel round out the top five travel styles for 2026.
