- 9 January, 25
The Port of Piraeus, Greece’s largest, has been honored as the “Ferry Shipping Port of the Year 2024” at the European Ferry Shipping Summit held in Athens. This accolade recognizes the port’s significant investments in infrastructure and modernization, particularly in cruise and ferry services. Handling approximately 20 million passengers annually, Piraeus stands as one of Europe’s busiest passenger ports, serving as a crucial hub connecting mainland Greece with the Aegean islands and Crete, and acting as a primary gateway between Europe and its southeastern borders
Su Xudong, CEO of Piraeus Port Authority SA (PPA SA), expressed pride in the port’s achievements, attributing success to the dedicated efforts and expertise of the team, which have established Piraeus as a model of efficiency and responsible operations.
In light of Piraeus’s growing prominence, the Mercan Group is developing a new mega real estate project in the area. This presents a unique opportunity for investors to own property in this thriving port city.
