The “Pearl of the Ionian Sea” — Corfu — is entering a new chapter in luxury marine tourism.

The Hellenic Parliament has officially approved a €50 million investment for the construction of a state-of-the-art superyacht marina, positioning Corfu among the Mediterranean’s premier luxury nautical destinations.

The new marina will be developed as a modern tourist port capable of accommodating around 400 yachts, including superyachts up to 140 meters in length.

Spanning 39,400 square meters, the project will feature a commercial promenade, restaurants and cafés, a boutique hotel, parking facilities, and public green spaces.

Greek Minister of Shipping Vassilis Kikilias stated: “The new Corfu marina will redefine the landscape of marine tourism across the Ionian Sea.”

The project is expected to create hundreds of new jobs and generate growth across related sectors including maritime services, hospitality, retail, and transportation.

According to the Ministry of Shipping, the marina is projected to bring €80 million in total revenue to the state during its concession period.

Deputy Minister Stefanos Gkikas added: “The construction of the marina will strictly follow sustainable principles, focusing on energy efficiency and environmental protection — setting a new benchmark for Greece’s green ports.”
