Hard Rock International and Mercan Group announce plans for New Hard Rock Hotel Algarve in Portugal

Hard Rock International (HRI) is an iconic hospitality and entertainment brand known the world over for its hotels, casinos, cafes, merchandise, and live venues.

Hard Rock International announced development plans to open a new Hard Rock Hotel Algarve in Portugal that qualified for Portugal Golden Visa program. This hotel project had been launched in April by Mercan Group. The new development will be located in Portimão, which is known for its historic center, lively marina, and proximity to several beaches. The property expected plans for construction in early 2024 and open in the summer of 2026. Hard Rock Hotel features 275 luxurious rooms and suites and an additional 150 branded serviced apartments.

Along with direct access to the beach while on property, the tourists will enjoy a variety of relaxation areas including the beloved Hard Rock Roxity Kids Club™, three restaurants, three bars, three exterior pools, a Rock Spa®, gym, Rock Shop®, sports area and beach club.

Located in the Algarve region of southern Portugal, the town of Portimão was traditionally a centre for shipbuilding, sardine fishing and fish processing, lively marina, and is globally known for the Algarve International Autofrome, where the Portuguese Grand Pix was held in 2020 and 2021. Furthermore, the town has some of the best beaches in the Algarve region with extensive sandy coastline paired with calm, warm and clear waters. Hard Rock Hotel Algarve is in right on the hillside leading to the charming Praia do Vau beach.
