MERCAN GROUP – CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – MARRIOTT RENAISSANCE LAPA HOTEL

Marriott Lapa Renaissance hotel is the result of an urban rehabilitation from the 2.5 acres of land to four-star hotel in Porto that qualified for Portugal Golden Visa program developed by Mercan Group. The total of investment of this project is 56M EUR. This is the first hotel of Mercan Group that calls for large-scale investors with 160 investors fully subscribed within 4 months.

Lapa Porto hotel is the new build hotel that opened under the name Marriott Renaissance and become the first hotel Marriott Renaissance in Porto. Marriott brand is one of the famous brands in America, which has four categories include Luxury, Premium, Select, and Longer stays (from high to low) includes Luxury can be known as The Riz Carton, JW; Premium (4-star): Sheraton, Tribute Portfolio, Renaissance; Select: Four Points, Moxy. Mercan signed franchise agreement to open hotel under the premium and select Brand of Marriott.

Located in the heart of Oporto city, near the iconic Lapa Church, within a 12-minute walking distance to Avenida dos Aliados and the City Hall, the city’s reference center points.

Lapa Porto hotel has been projected under a solid concept: inspiring shapes, simplicity, and elegance, combined with high-end engineering. This hotel will have one of the largest conference, event, and convention centers in the country. Furthermore, it has 163 rooms divided by 5 floors, plus 2 floors for parking and other amenities. The hotel plans also include a restaurant, bar, gym, and a rooftop swimming pool & bar with an exciting view over the city skyline.

At present, Lapa Hotel is nearly full of facilities and prepares for opening. This hotel is planned to be opened in April of this year.
