Mercan Group develops 2 projects in Evora and confirms to be opening soon

Mercan Group plans to open a 4-star hotel in Evora in May and is building another 3-star hotel, which it intends to open in 2024. 2 projects are qualified for Portugal Golden Visa program including Hilton Garden Inn Evora and Holiday Inn Express Evora.

The projects for future hotel units involve a global investment of around €37.8 million by Mercan Group.  

Hilton Garden Inn Evora is a 4-star hotel. This Hotel will operate under one of the World’s largest Hotel Brand, which is the perfect concept to give the Hotel a vibrant, modern and sophisticated atmosphere where an open plan space is combined with ingenious detailing and light furniture to allow maximum flexibility.

Located next to Rossio de São Brás, at the entrance to the historic centre of Alentejo city, the Hilton Garden Inn Évora is in the “final phase of construction and final finishes” and is expected to open its doors in May this year.

With an investment of 21M EUR, Hilton Garden Inn Evora will create 62 direct jobs in the operation phase, while construction phase involved 80 jobs. Évora Garden Inn is comprised of 130 rooms with modern amenities such as restaurant, bar, pool and multi-functional meeting room.

The other hotel, Holiday Inn Express Evora, that Mercan Group is building in Evora will operate under IHG brand. This project is the results of rehabilitation of Properties of the city of Évora, giving a new life to the history and culture that surrounds it.

Located in the Portas de Avis area, the historic center zone surrounded by the city’s wall guards remains back in Roman time. Holiday Inn Express makes guests feel welcome and valued. Taking care of people and the communities around, providing the highest quality of service. Holiday Inn Express with its classic façade matching the Old time feeling of Evora.

The three-star Holiday Inn Express Évora, the result of an investment of €6.8 million, is in the “advanced construction phase” and its opening is scheduled for the “second quarter of 2024”. This project create around 50 jobs were created during construction and it will create 36 permanent jobs during its operation.

Holiday Inn Express Evora offers 76 rooms, an outdoor pool, restaurant, bar, and meeting room. Within 05 minutes’ walk to touristic spots, Holiday Inn Express is a perfect choice for travelers who want to enjoy their leisure time at most convenience when in Evora.
