Portugal – The 4th Most Peaceful Country In The World

Global Index 2021 recorded Portugal is top 3 peaceful country in Europe. Overall, Portugal is the 4th most peaceful country in the world.

Europe remains the most peaceful region in the world. The region is home to eight of the ten most peaceful countries, and no country in Europe is ranked outside the top half of the index.

“Portugal being considered one of the safest countries in the world is an asset to the quality of life of the Portuguese,” Minister of Internal Administration, Eduardo Cabrita. Recalls all the work done in recent years, remembering that in 2014 the country occupied the 18th position in the ranking.

Of the 163 nations analysed, Iceland still remains the most peaceful country in the world with 1.1 points. Ahead of Portugal is New Zealand (1.253), in second place, and Denmark (1.256), in third.

The Golden Visa Programme in Portugal is one of the most attractive and successful in Europe. The Golden Visa allows non-European citizens and family members the right to obtain authorizations for permanent residence or citizenship, granting free movement within the 26 countries in the Schengen Area.
