Holiday Inn Express coming to Évora

A new Holiday Inn Express is due to open is Évora in 2023, representing an investment of €16.8 million by Mercan Group, in partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG).

The new hotel is scheduled to open in the summer of 2023 and will be located in the Portas de Avis area, in several renovated buildings close to the city’s central square.

They also explain that “the property is intended for leisure and business travellers who want to enjoy the history and culture of Évora”.

“Holiday Inn Express Évora has a privileged location within an area of ​​great historical and cultural wealth. The renovation project, and subsequent investment, demonstrates the growing tourist demand in Évora and Mercan’s confidence in Portugal. We are delighted to add this world-renowned hotel brand to our portfolio,” said Jordi Vilanova, Vice President of Mercan Group.

This is Mercan Group’ second project in Évora, after the Hilton Garden Inn Évora, whose first stone was laid in 2021.
