Properties by the sea – where are the cheapest locations in Portugal?

Looking at the 54 municipalities that make up the Portuguese coast, idealista found that houses became more expensive in 48 locations near the sea between May 2021 and May 2022 (+71%), with a house costing, on average, 465,284 euros in May. In the Top 3 of the biggest increases are Grândola, in Alentejo, (+53.8%) and Lagos, in Algarve (+44.1%).
The most expensive place to buy a home by the sea is Cascais, where a house costs, on average, 892,485 euros in May 2022. Next is Grândola (872,644 euros) and Loulé (721,628 euros).
However not all locations in Portugal have such a heavy price tag. The cheapest place to buy a house on the coast in Portugal is according to idelaista, Porto de Mós, where buying a house costs, on average, 119,056 euros. This is followed Marinha Grande (157,315 euros); Cantanhede (161,198 euros); Figueira da Foz (179,599 euros)and Santiago do Cacém (194,703 euros).
