Algarve hotel stays increased 45.6% in September YoY

According to provisional data revealed by the Algarve Hotels and Tourism Developments Association (AHETA), the volume of sales increased by 45.6% in September this year.

Sales in hotel accommodation in the Algarve grew 45.6% in September compared to the same period in 2020, with an overall average occupancy rate of 64.1%, the Algarve’s largest hotel association said on Wednesday, but was down 21.9% compared to the same period in 2019.

According to data advanced by AHETA in the summary of the monthly evolution of the sector’s activity, the overall average occupancy rate per room was 64.1%, an increase of 33.8% compared to the same month last year, but 26.3% below the figure recorded in 2019.

The domestic market grew by 55.1% compared to September 2019.
