Portugal to donate 4.5 million vaccines

The prime minister has said that by the end of the year, Portugal will donate 4.5 million vaccines against Covid-19, in particular to Portuguese-speaking African countries.

“Portugal, so far, has donated 2.7 million doses of vaccines. By the end of the year, we will reach 4.5 million doses donated, in particular to Portuguese-speaking African countries, East Timor and to the multilateral mechanism Covax”.

Regarding the global fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the prime minister argued that “it is essential that Europe concentrates on this effort to share vaccines with other continents, namely with Africa”.
