Rent increased by 2.4% in April of the same year

All regions showed positive differences, with the Algarve, Madeira and Lisbon registering the highest, according to INE.

Rents per square meter (m2) increased by 2.4% in April , compared with the same month in 2021, accelerating from 2.2% in March 2022, with all areas increasing by year, most recent data from INE.

According to the National Institute of Statistics (INE), “all regions show a positive change in housing rents year over year, with the Algarve (with 2.7%), Madeira and Lisbon (both with 2. 6%) registered the highest gain”. .

For average housing rents per square meter, there was a monthly increase of 0.3%, 0.1 percentage points higher than the previous month.

The regions with the highest positive monthly volatility were the Azores and Lisbon, with 0.6% and 0.3% respectively, with no area showing negative change in the mean value of rents.
