Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel and Sé Catedral Hotel Porto triumph at World Travel Awards

The Hotels of Mercan Group in Portugal, managed by AHM, were selected in the categories of “Portugal’s Leading Business Hotel 2024” and “Portugal’s Leading Design Hotel 2024”, respectively.

The World Travel Awards, which are like the Oscars for tourism, have announced the winners for 2024. Two new hotels in Porto, the Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel and the Sé Catedral Hotel Porto, have won awards in different categories. The Renaissance Porto Lapa hotel opened in April 2023. It is part of the Marriott Bonvoy collection, which has over 30 hotel brands around the world. It is the only hotel in Portugal under this brand. The hotel is in the Lapa neighborhood in Porto. It’s a stylish place to stay near the Lapa Church and other famous places like Casa da Música and the Torre dos Clérigos. The hotel has 163 nice rooms and suites, a restaurant, two special bars, and 544 square meters of flexible event space with the latest conference technology.

The Sé Catedral Hotel Porto Tapestry Collection by Hilton is in Porto. It’s the first hotel of its kind in Portugal. There’s also a restaurant and a bar in the hotel.
